Flowers and Their Meanings 

The Dahlia is a very popular wedding flower in floral design. The flowers is related to the Aster, Daisys, and the Sunflower. It is native to Mexico and there are over 40 species. 

The meaning of the Dahlia flower is elegance in change, inner strength, creativity and dignity. You would most commonly give this flower in the event of showing admiration to someones for staying true to themselves and being a example of strength.

If you want to get specific in what you are trying to communicate with your dahlia you can choose from different colors. 

Red = strength  "you are strong"

White = pure, "your motives are pure"

Blue = None exist the term "blue dahlia" means "impossible to obtain"

Pink /Purple = grace/ kind, "you handled that so beautifully and gracefully"

Sweet Pea Meaning

The Sweet Pea is a very common flower in floral design. The flowers scientific name is lathyros odortaus. The genus name comes from the Greek word lathyros for pea or pulse, and odoratus meaning fragrant. So my translation would be a pulse of fragrance. Which is so appropriate! 

The meaning of the Sweet Pea flower is pleasure or delight, as well as goodbye or departure. You would most commonly give this flower in the event of showing appreciation to someone for hosting you. 

When you start focusing on the meaning of color paired with the Sweet Pea, it gets even more meaningful. 

Pink = "delighted to have been with you"

White = loyalty, "will remain yours"

Blue = Peaceful, "part ways as friends"

Purple = esteem/ respect, "parting with great admiration"

Pink Flowers in Redding CA

There are so many beautiful colors out there, but unless you are going for a rainbow theme, it is nice to make sure the colors you have chosen flow together.

You could choose to go for monochromatic color scheme or choose colors and hues that complement your focal color. 

Adding in a foliage or berries into the design mix helps add new and unexpected texture to the arrangement. As you can see in the image above, we added dusty miller. Complimenting the soft colors with a soft texture.
